Ammon's first bath

I think Dad was more excited about this one than Ammon was. Ryan is a Video fan so we had to record Ammon's first bath. He was so cute...little lip shaking and shivering! He actually LOVES bath time. especially when we wash his hair! Can't blame him...we pay big bucks to get our hair done in a salon...he's just enjoying it for free. =)

Bringing Baby Home!

Bringing Ammon home was a blast! It made everything seem real at last! Every few minutes one of us would say "Wow, I can't believe this is real!", "Yay! We get to take him home for keepsies!" or " Oh my gosh are we ready for this?'. Well we were obviously brand new parents considering it took us 15 minutes to figure out how to lock the carseat in the car! haha

Ammon looked so cute all bundled and cozied up! I think he was just as glad to leave as we were!!

After we got home we all unpacked and settled in for a VERY needed nap. It had been an amazing and exhausting weekend.

Our Little Ammon

Sunday morning at 10:30am our amazing little Ammon was born! What an amazing experience! Saturday morning I woke up at about 5am with some serious back pain. After a few long hours I got nervous and decided we should run into the hospital just in case. So we packed all our things (hoping it was real labor) and drove to Orem.
On the way to the hospital Ryan saw a stork flying above the car and swore it was a sign that I was in labor, we both laughed and both secretly hoped it was true. When we got to the hospital they confirmed that the pain I was feeling were labor contractions but said I wasn’t far enough along to stay and have baby, so with heavy yet hopeful hearts we left the hospital and decided to go see a movie then head to my grandmas house in Highland.
Throughout the day the pains got worse and  worse. At about 9:30 that night Ryan could tell the pain was getting really bad and said “Get up, we’re going to the hospital!”.  When we got there I was devastated to find out I wasn’t much further along than earlier that afternoon. But the nurse said she’d keep me a couple hours and check again.
Those couple hours were pretty miserable. The contractions got so close together and so long. Ryan was so wonderful, he sat at the side of the bed and held my hand/played with my hair, kept me as relaxed as possible. Ry was SO great that when I started to cry he even did a dance for me to the song “I wanna be like you” from the Jungle Book. It actually got me to smile!
FINALLY at about 4:00 in the morning the nurse said I was ready for the epidural. I thought after so many intense contractions I wouldn’t even feel the needle….I was wrong. But Ryan let me squeeze his hand while they gave it to me.  (He swears he felt the blood vessels in his fingers popping).
After waiting for what seemed like forever, they said it was "go time". At about 10:30, after a quick and easy delivery we got to meet our baby boy!!!  7 Lbs 7 oz, 21 inches long!!! So perfect. I couldn't stop crying! Tears of happiness and of relief! He was HERE! Here safe and sound! We were so happy!!! I couldn’t believe how perfect he looked! So sweet and small!
Right away I could tell who he took after....with light hair and light skin my handsome little boy looks just like his father. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing husband and sweet son. I love my boys!!!

9 months and 32 hours of labor and worth every second!
